How it works

  1. 1Make an account and link your DartCounter. Your average over your last 30 games places you.
  2. 2When entries close we read your average again and put you in a league of up to 12 players at your level. Book each match with the Arrange button on your Me page, no group chat needed.
  3. 3Play everyone in your league once over the 4 weeks, whenever suits you both. Scores go straight on the table.
  4. 4At the end, the top 2 go up a league and the bottom 2 go down for next month.

What you get here

The usual online league, plus the things the others do not do.

🔔Your own updates

A message written for you when your league moves: "Jack, you've dropped two places, but it's ok, you've got a game in hand." You choose how often.

📊A table that runs itself

Results go on the table the moment they are in. Nobody waits for a spreadsheet.

🎯Our own live scorer

Score on your phone, your opponent watches it count down on theirs. Or play on DartCounter as usual.

👤Your player profile

Average, first 9, 180s, best leg, highest checkout and head to head, kept for you all season.

🏆Awards worked out for you

Most 180s, highest checkout and best average are tracked from every match, so there is no arguing.

📱An app on your phone

Add Double Tops to your home screen and it opens like an app.

The rules

The same rules the big online leagues use, so nothing here will surprise you. Tap one to read it.

Your league

You are placed in a league of up to 12 players by your 3 dart average over your last 30 games. Link your DartCounter and we read it for you, so nobody can claim a lower one. A league manager can move anyone whose results show they are in the wrong league.

The match

501, double out, best of 8 legs, so a match can finish 4-4. Take it in turns to throw first after the opening leg.

Who throws first

A coin toss decides who throws first in leg one. Throw then alternates each leg. The toss only decides the order, never a result.

Camera

Camera on for every match, set off to the side so it shows you at the oche throwing and the whole board, clearly lit and steady. Your opponent must see you throw every dart and see where it lands. Check each other's view before the first leg. No camera, no game.

Scores

Let your opponent see your darts in the board before you take them out, especially big scores and checkouts. A wrong score can be put right before the next visit starts, not after.

Where you play

Play on DartCounter or on our own scorer. On our scorer, have a WhatsApp video call running while you play, set up as the Camera rule says.

When you play

The season runs 4 weeks. Agree each match time with the Arrange button next to your fixture on your Me page, so there is a record. Have half your matches played by the halfway point, and all of them by the last day.

Running late

Turn up on time. After 15 minutes your opponent can tell the league manager and claim the match. Cancel at least 2 hours before, or the manager may award the match against you.

Dropped connection

If the call or the app drops, the leg carries on from the scores it was on once you are back. If you cannot get back within 15 minutes, agree a new time for the rest of the match. Dropping out on purpose loses the match.

Points

Same as football: 3 points for a win and 1 for a draw. If players are level on points, legs difference decides it, then legs won, then season average.

Sending in results

The winner sends in the result within 24 hours. A DartCounter match comes in by itself once your account is linked. Otherwise add a screenshot of the final score.

Matches not played

If a match is not played by the last day, the league manager decides from the Arrange record: the win goes to the player who tried to arrange it, or the match is void. Tell the manager early if you cannot get a match on.

Leaving early

If a player leaves before playing half their matches, all their results come off the table. After that, their results stand and the rest of their matches are void.

Up and down

At the end of the season the top 2 in each league go up and the bottom 2 go down for next month. New players join at their level.

Awards

League winner and runner up in every league, plus most 180s and highest checkout. Every award is worked out from the match stats, so there is no arguing.

Fair play

Be a good sport, and no throwing matches. A league manager can remove anyone who spoils it for others.
